This is a message for all 6th through 12th grade families: The Livingston County Sheriff's Department conducted an unannounced drug search of the high school and junior high today. The school and students are safe and secure-this is an exercise conducted on a random basis at our campus to assure the safety and security of students and staff. During the exercise, trained police dogs are examining areas in and around vacant classrooms, vacant common areas, student lockers, locker rooms, and parking lots. Please note that individuals are not being subjected to searches by the K-9 units, and the search is not in reaction to any rumor or information we received. Tri-Point wanted to make you aware of this event in case your child happened to discuss it with you. If you have any questions, please contact our main office. Thank you.

We wanted to inform you of a situation at the lower elementary and alleviate any possible concerns. This morning the Kempton Fire Department responded to a call at the Lower Elementary East building due to the smell of smoke and some haziness in the gym during which all students and staff were temporarily moved to the west building. It was discovered that a motor had burnt out on a fan in one of the heating units and there had been no fire. The fire department deemed the building safe to resume the school day although we will refrain from using the gym until it has fully aired out.

Tri-Point High School would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Marsha Haag for her role in speaking at our Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11th. Marsha's introduction of our guest speakers helped set the tone for an engaging and educational event for our community, staff, and students. We were honored to have Michael Vozar share his insights about the Honors Flight Network, highlighting the importance of honoring veterans and ensuring they have the opportunity to visit the memorials dedicated to their service. Additionally, we were grateful for Eric Carlson, who brought two service dogs trained to assist veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury. Eric’s presentation on the specialized training techniques for these dogs provided valuable information about the ways in which these animals are making a difference in the lives of veterans.

Tri-Point High School will be having a Veterans Day program in the gym at 2:10pm on Monday, November 11th. We invite veterans and community members to join us to hear about two veteran programs: the service dog program for veterans with PTSD or traumatic brain injury and the Honor Flight program. NHS is collecting supplies to donate to the service dog program that trains dogs and veterans in our area. We are collecting new dog toys, dog treats, pee pads, Petco gift cards, or PetSmart gift cards. Gift cards will help pay for dog food. Bins will be available for donations at Tom’s Tavern, the Cullom Market, and the Piper City Post Office. You can also drop off donations to the main office of all 3 buildings. We will be collecting donations until November 15th!

This week's Alumni Spotlight is Tri-Point's Mikaayla English. Mikaayla was a 3 sport athlete at TP. She was involved in cross country, basketball, and track. She is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In her own words: Major: Agriculture Education with an emphasis in Tech Education Sports in College: Cross Country & Track and Field (Events: 800m & 1500m) What are you looking forward to this season: A healthy season being able to compete within one of the best conferences in the nation. Plans after UW-Platteville: Working in a high school agriculture classroom either in Wisconsin or Illinois. How did TP prepare you academically?: The teachers and staff pushed me to do my best in all of my classes which helped prepare me to do the same in my college classes. How did TP prepare you athletically?: During athletics, I was allowed to grow not only as an individual, but also as a leader. Coming from smaller teams, I was able to make connections easily when coming onto a team that was bigger.
