This Wednesday, September 27th, we are planning on practicing our Law Enforcement Drill. All schools are required by the State of Illinois to participate in a school intruder drill with the assistance of local law enforcement. This drill involves two parts. The first is a practice lockdown drill where students shelter in their classroom as if there was an intruder in the building. The second part would involve evacuating the building and moving to our rally point. As we are getting into fall weather, please remind your children to have their coats with them.
These drills are completed taking into account the ages of our students. We understand that our students may not understand the purpose of these drills. Because of that, we take the sensibilities of our students into account and design them to be age appropriate so we do not frighten our students. THIS SUNDAY: A holocaust survivor, Dr. William Gingold, is speaking at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church (905 East First Street, Gibson City) at 10:30 am. There will also be a traveling museum that will be on display to the public from 4-7 pm September 11-29.

Tomorrow evening's junior high girls basketball game vs. Kankakee Grace Christian Academy will start at 5:30. In addition, because of low numbers, there will only be a 7th grade game.
Cheerleading practice is cancelled for tonight at the Junior High School. We do not have practice on Fridays. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

The junior high has been on 2 trips to Washington DC through the company, World Classrooms. The next trip to DC will be offered to grades 5-7 in 2025. These experiences have been a great opportunity for students to travel and learn!
Other travel experiences could be offered if enough interest is out there.
