We are working on rescheduling the volleyball game. Basketball will not be rescheduled
Jr. High E-Learning Day #1 (Tuesday, January 21, 2025)
6th Grade - 8th Grade
Students, please refer to the E-Learning envelopes you received last week. Teachers will be available via email for any questions or concerns. Below is a brief summary of the E-Learning assignments included in the envelopes.
ELA (Andrews): Write a 3 paragraph short story about being “snowed-in”. (1st assignment in packet) (This is posted in Google Classroom ONLY for students who did not receive the packet.)
ELA (Shiner): Read the first story in the packet and answer the questions. Answer the short answer question with good sentences.
Math (Mann): Complete one entire page of their choice (front & back) from those that are in their math packet. Save the other pages in case we have more additional e-learning days.
Math (McGinnis): Follow the instructions for Day 1 in your packet. This is review material that has already been taught.
Math (Nugent): Complete the Day 1 worksheet. This is review work.
Science (Saffer): Follow the directions on the information sheet in the packet for Day 1.
Social Studies (Galindo): All students are creating a storyboard. In each panel..Make Drawings and Write description sentences for each panel about what you have learned. 6th grade: Show the beginning, middle, and end of an event of Ancient Egypt or something in that time period.
7-8, Same as 6th OR show the causes and effects during your event: 7th-American Revolutionary War…8th-World War I. Directions are also posted in Google Classroom.
P.E. (Cahill): Complete the day 1 workout in the packet.
If you were absent last week and did not receive the e-learning packet, please reach out to your teachers via email to obtain specific instructions.

Reminders for tonight's cheer camp performance:
*Your cheerleader will be performing between the JV and Varsity boys basketball game on Friday, January 17th.
*Please drop your child off at the high school at 6:15pm. We will warm up and supervise them starting at this time. Drop them off no later or earlier than 6:15pm.
*We will be performing at approximately 6:40pm. Feel free to sit down in the bleachers in the gym while you wait for the performance to begin.
*After the performance, we will make an announcement to tell you where to pick up your cheerleader. You are then free to go, or stay to enjoy the varsity game!
*Reminder: Transportation will not be provided. You need to drive your cheerleader to and from the performance at the high school.
*Please dress your cheerleader in our red cheer camp t-shirt, black athletic short/leggings, and tennis shoes.
*Two tickets have been provided to each cheerleader’s family. You can use these to get two family members into the game, but any other family that wants to watch will have to pay to enter the game.
*NHS Spaghetti supper is from 4-6:30pm on Friday! Arrive early to fuel up on spaghetti before show time!

7th grade boys basketball regional..
We are seeded 6th and will play 3rd seed Flanagan on Saturday, January 25, at 12:30. The regional will be played at Flanagan Grade School, 202 E Falcon Highway.
Reminder:
-There is no school on Monday, January 20th
-8th grade night for BB and Cheer is on Thursday , January 23rd.
The 8th graders had a great visit to the Piper City Volunteer Fire Department on Monday. They enjoyed learning about fire safety, volunteer opportunities, and career options. We've got several waiting for their time to become firefighter cadets. Thanks to Ben Mogged, Chief Platz, and Brenden Decker for taking time for us, and all volunteer firefighters and EMTs.
